Looking for something fun to do with the whole family over Labor Day weekend? If so, look no further than the annual Festival of Sail located at the Maritime Museum in San Diego. This festival is the largest Tall Ship festival on the west coast. Head to the pier for all the nautical fun you can handle! The Festival of Sail is held September 5th through the 7th. Bring down the whole family and enjoy the fun if you’ll be staying in San Diego during the Festival of Sail!

At the Festival of Sail, come and check out the beautiful Tall Ships that will be docked in the bay. However, the festival is more than just looking at beautiful ships. Climb aboard to receive a fascinating tour from a crew member. You will even notice that the entire dock will be transformed too! There will be fun boat and pirate themed activities, over 100 craft vendors to look through, fun interactions with pirates and storytellers, a petting zoo, and even Tall Ship cannon battles! With all this to do, you might get hungry, but don’t worry, there will be a number of food options at the festival. At the street festival, located on the street next to the Tall Sails, there will be a food court. At this location, you will also find vendors, various forms of entertainment, and even a fun kid’s zone!

Tickets to the Festival of Sail can be purchased online through A general admission ticket can be purchased for $7. A child ticket, for children 3-12, can be purchased for $5. Seniors 62 and over as well as active military with ID can also purchase tickets for $5. When buying tickets online, there is a small fee. On Saturday and Sunday, the festival will be open from 9am – 7pm and on Monday, the pier will be open from 9am to 5pm. Do not miss out on this fun and festive event!
