New Children’s Museum in San Diego

San Diego is family friendly destination that offers a number of different activities that kids of all ages can enjoy. The SD Children’s Museum is a perfect example of family fun that the whole family can enjoy. The New Children’s Museum is more than just a museum. It’s a place where kids are encouraged to be creative, where they can learn by playing and they can hone their problem solving, critical thinking and interpersonal skills. During the summer the museum is hosting a Superhero Summer program that is open to all ages. On select days during the summer, drop in various workshops that will be held throughout the day. At the Superhero Stickers workshop you can channel your inner superhero and will be able to create your own superhero emblem that will fit your talents. At Flying Floating Superheroes, put your science skills to the test and create a superhero. Afterwards, see if your creation can fly or float! See what else is in store for you during the Superhero Summer Program! The museum also has a number of interactive exhibits where your kids are encouraged to play, explore and learn such as the Sketch Aquarium. Here, kids are encouraged to draw a sea creature and when their done, their image is scanned and projected on a giant virtual aquarium and they can see their creation come to life.

 

You’ll find the San Diego Children’s Museum located at 200 West Island Ave. The museum is open from Monday through Saturday from 9:30am to 4pm. On Sundays, the museum is open from 11am to 4pm. Children under the age of 1 get into the museum for FREE. Children over 1 and adults get in for $14. Seniors and military with ID get in for $10.
