Outdoor Fun In San Diego

Even though summer might be coming to a close, there is no need to stop the outdoor fun! With excellent weather year round, San Diego offers an opportunity to partake in fun adventures any time of the year. Here are some outdoor attractions to visit in San Diego.

The San Diego Zoo and Safari has consistently been ranked as one of the top zoos in the world. The habitats found at the zoo are accurate representations of real world settings and house thousands of different species, many of which are endangered. While the San Diego Zoo is an excellent opportunity to see different types of wildlife, if you want to up the fun, consider going on one of the safaris offered by the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. The Safari Park is a wildlife sanctuary where over 3,000 different animals live. When you take a ride on one of their safari’s you can see animals such as elephants, giraffes, lions and more. If you are not entirely sure what you want to do with your day but you know that you want to spend some time outdoors, head to Balboa Park. This is basically your one stop shop for outdoor fun. While Balboa Park has many indoor activities such as museums, there are also many outdoor activities. Take a stroll through one of their many gardens, stop by the botanical gardens to look at rare and beautiful flowers, or simply take a picnic lunch down to the park and enjoy!

The Gaslamp Quarter is a great place to stop by if you are looking to spend some time outdoors. Here, you can walk around the streets and enjoy the classic feel of the historic Gaslamp Quarter. Look through the boutiques that line the streets and maybe shop for something that you can bring back home with you. Afterward, stop by one of the many eateries and enjoy the outdoor patios while sipping on one of your favorite cocktails. If you stay out late enough, the Gaslamp Quarter has a vibrant nightlife scene with many bars even offering live music most nights.
