Labor Day Weekend Events In San Diego
If you are in San Diego this Labor Day, there are a number of activities that will be occurring throughout the city. From family-friendly events to musical celebrations, here are some Labor Day 2016 events in San Diego.
The annual Festival of Sails is a 4-day adventure that will take place at the Maritime Museum. This Labor Day weekend, come and enjoy watching majestic ships sail into the San Diego bay and stand by as the ships make cannon fire salutes. There will even be a limited amount of tickets sold that will allow you to be aboard the ships during the tall ship parade! Other activities include a kids petting zoo, a beer garden for those 21+, photo ops with pirates, arts and craft vendors and more! The San Diego Symphony is getting ready to wind down the summer season with the final performance of the Bayside Summer Nights series. From September 2nd through the 4th, enjoy the symphony perform Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. Some of the songs include the Romeo and Juliet overture, “Valse des fleurs” from Nutcracker, Op. 71a, and Nocturne, Op. 19, No. 4. There will also be a wonderful fireworks show to enjoy.
Over at SeaWorld, enjoy longer summer hours until September 5th. That means more time to enjoy fun shows such as the One Ocean show featuring Shamu as well as Dolphin Days, Shark Encounter, and the all new Sea Lions Tonite show featuring sea lions and otters. Once the sun goes down, stick around for Celebrate the Wonder, which is an incredible fireworks show.
