September 27, 2016

With the recent arrival of Fall, it can only mean one thing – Oktoberfest is right around the corner! When staying in Downtown San Diego, come and gather with the community for a weekend of fun, excitement and of course, beer! This year, come out to the annual La Mesa Oktoberfest. This year, the festival will take place from September 30th through October 2nd.

The La Mesa Oktoberfest has been a community tradition since 1973. With nearly 50 years experience, San Diego knows how to throw an Oktoberfest. If you are looking for some awesome German food, be sure to stop by the Street Festival. Here, you will see over 100 vendors that have all lined up along La Mesa Blvd. and other adjoining side streets. With other 100 vendors to choose from, you’ll find some of the best foods around such as bratwurst dogs, beer brats, sauerkraut, german potatoes, pretzels and other German classics. This year, the opening ceremonies for La Mesa Oktoberfest will take place on September 30th at 7:30pm. Enjoy the Oktoberfest tradition, “tapping of the keg” and do not miss out on the all new burst of confetti that will mark the beginning of Oktoberfest. Beer will only be $8 per cup and choose from a wide selection of beer including spaten oktoberfest, spaten lager, spaten optimator, franziskaner heffe weiss, and franzikaner dunkel. Select wines and ciders will also be available!

All activities will take place at the La Mesa Village, which is located on La Mesa Blvd., between 4th Street and Spring Street. On September 30th, events will be from 4pm-10pm. On October 1st, events will be from 10am-10pm. The final day of celebrations will be on October 2nd with events running from 10am-6pm.
