One of the great things about San Diego is that there is always something fun and exciting to do from days at the beach to San Diego helicopter rentals! During the holidays, there is even more to enjoy. During the Christmas season there is even more for guests and visitors to enjoy. Read on to learn about things to do in San Diego during the holidays.


The 46 Annual San Diego Bay Parade of Lights is one of the most popular traditions in San Diego during the holidays. This year, the theme for the parade is, “Arrrgh! A Pirate’s Christmas”. During the parade of lights, participants decorate their boats according to the year’s theme. As these boats that are decorated with festive lights float down the bay, visitors can stand along the shores of San Diego and enjoy. The parade will consist of around 80 boats that are all festively decorated. The 46th Annual San Diego Bay Parade of Lights will take place on December 10th and 17th and the procession will begin at 5pm. Visit the official website for more information!


Do you love dogs? If so, be sure to stop by the Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade. During the parade, guests are encouraged to bring their costumed pets along and see all the fun costumed. Additionally, there are a number of pet parade costume categories! Some of these include, Best Ugly Holiday Sweater, best Costumed Duo, Cutest Critter, Best Holiday Costume and more. The 10th annual Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade will take place on Sunday, December 10th at 3pm. There will be a pet expo from 1-5pm as well. Mark your calendars today!


Just because it’s sunny in San Diego doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy classic holiday traditions. This year, enjoy San Diego’s only beachfront ice skating rink at Hotel Del Coronado. When you come down here, you’ll enjoy beautiful views of of the Pacific and Coronado beach as well as seeing the historic Victorian Building that is magically decorated for the Christmas season.
