Top Holiday Events in San Diego

Now that we are in December, the Holiday season is in full swing. If you are looking for family-friendly San Diego holiday events to take part in, there are a number of things in store. Here are a few events you can go to this holiday season.

First on the list is the San Diego Hot Buttered Run 10k and Kandy Kane Race. This holiday-themed race is for the whole family. There will be a Christmas tree lined race route, a fun island holiday feel and Santa Claus and friends will be waiting at the finish line! In addition, once you finish the race, the Barefoot Restaurant will have Hot Buttered Rum for adults and hot chocolate for kids! The Kandy Kane Race is for 5-12 year olds and is a 1k. There is also the Kids Kandy Kane Race for 3-12 year olds that can be ran or walked. The event will be December 20th; visit energyevents.com/sandiegohotbutteredrun for more information.

Looking for an outdoor skating rink? Look no further than Fantasy on Ice! Located behind the Liberty Station command center, the rink is open to the public everyday from 10am-10pm. The rink will be closed on Christmas Day and on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve the hours will be 10am-5pm. Stop by November 19th – January 3rd for some fun ice skating. Tickets are $14 for adults and $12 for children. All proceeds benefit Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego.

When you visit LEGO Land from November 21st – January 3rd, you can also stop by Snow Play, where you can see the LEGO Christmas tree and take part in other fun holiday treats! There will be a nightly tree lighting event from December 3rd – 25th at 5pm and holiday fireworks at 7pm from December 26th-30th. Stop by to enjoy these fun events and more! Jungle Bells will be at the San Diego Zoo from December 12th through January 3rd. When you visit the zoo during these dates, you can partake in fun holiday activities throughout the zoo. Enjoy the winter decorations, look at the special animal sculptures that are lighted, listen to the musical entertainment, watch Dr. Zoolittle’s spirited version of “Twas the Night Before Christmas”, eat some delicious holiday treats, and of course pay a visit to Santa! All these fun events can be enjoyed until 8pm.
