Celebrate Chinese New Year in San Diego

With February right around the corner, it means that the lunar new year is nearly upon us. If you are looking to join in on the festivities of this wonderful holiday, San Diego has a number of great ways to celebrate. One such way is to attend the Lunar New Year Festival at the Qualcomm Stadium. This festival will take place from Friday, January 29th through Sunday, January 31st. At this event, you can enjoy delicious food, live entertainment such as lion dance troupes and firecrackers, and even some carnival rides and games. On Friday, the festival will be from 5pm – 10pm and on Saturday and Sunday, the festival will be from 10am – 10pm.

From February 12th through the 14th enjoy the 11th annual Tet festival. This year the theme of the Tet Festival is “Spring of Love” and will focus on the different types of love that we all share. When you come to the festival, you can wish for love at the wishing tree, capture romantic photos with the beautiful scenery, purchase flowers and more. During select dates from January 30th through February 21st, you can enjoy a number of festive entertainment opportunities at Sea World. There will be a number of ways to enjoy the Lunar New Year throughout the park. For example, there will be shows put on by the Chinese Acrobats of Hebei where you can witness incredible plate spinning, hoop diving, contortion and more. You can also enjoy delicious asian inspired food and a community stage where several cultural forms of entertainment will be held. You can enjoy all this and more at Seaworld.
